Wellness Experts Share Their Favorite Recipes for Glowing Skin

It’s not an old wives’ tale: Fifty years’ worth of data has confirmed that milk and sugary foods do, in fact, increase the risk of acne. Sorry USDA nutrition guidelines, but if it’s glowing skin you’re after, you’re better off cutting back on dairy and limiting your sugar intake. Given the proven impact diet can have on skin health, we turned to some top wellness experts to find out their favorite recipes for promoting healthy skin, along with exactly what we should consider when we sit down to eat.

Clarkson recommends elixirs because of their “high concentration of highly-potent ingredients in health-promoting combinations, which are designed to give you an instant boost of whatever your body needs on a particular day.” Greens, she says, are a particularly crucial ingredient for glowing and healthy skin because they’re chock-full of essential minerals and vitamins for a vibrant glow. “I also love coconut water because it’s loaded with probiotics, which helps keep your digestion running smoothly and your skin clear as a result. The carrots in this recipe contain beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant that helps to maintain a youthful appearance, and vitamin C, which helps the body to produce collagen. The combination of all of these ingredients makes this elixir powerful and revitalizing, helping to give your skin that healthy glow!
