The first issue of Love came to fruition in 2009, with the founder of the magazine, Katie Grand, producing a groundbreaking cover featuring Beth Ditto. Following a brief hiatus and a relaunch in September 2025, the title is now under the tutelage of Juan Costa Paz and Nordine Benotmane. Making an appearance on the cover of Love for Spring 2026 is Gigi Hadid, who makes a return to the front of the magazine, seven years after her last. This time around, the American model and industry favorite reunites with Sebastian Faena and Carine Roitfeld. Inspired by the 1992 movie “Death Becomes Her”, Hadid appears as you’ve never seen her before (headless!) in the quirky cover shot, wearing head-to-toe Valentino.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“I love her look, but this concept is a NO for me,” disapproved DK92 upon checking out the cover.
“All the violence going on in the world right now to open this thread to this image… nope!” scolded forum member kokobombon.
MModa agreed, echoing: “An unfortunate timing for this cover concept with the violence happening in the world as I write this.”
“Carine will never produce anything worthy of her status as long as she continues to align herself with Faena,” commented an underwhelmed Lola701.
Aracic added: “Conceptual and slightly interesting, but too on the nose and dull in execution. Faena has been suffocating Carine’s impact for years. Someone needs to free her!”
“I adore ‘Death Becomes Her,’ but this is not the best execution. Not the worst, but mostly it’s cringe,” chimed in Royal-Galliano.
“Why is this magazine still a thing?” asked grimesisnotmymother.
