Get Jessica Chastain’s Fresh Summer Beauty Look

Who: Jessica Chastain

Where: CFDA Fashion Awards

Why we like it: When the weather gets warmer, we’re always on the hunt for fresh summer beauty looks that manage to be both polished and low maintenance. We’ve come to expect great looks in both fashion and beauty from Jessica, and as the face of YSL’s new fragrance, it’s clear we can expect more great beauty choices to come.

How to get it at home: Start with a sheer foundation, tinted moisturizer, or BB cream, such as Smashbox’s Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35, $39. By using a product with less coverage, you’re able to let your skin’s natural radiance show through. Cover any blemishes or imperfections with a concealer, such as Tarte’s new Maracuja Creaseless Concealer, $24, which offers a more luminous finish than a typical matte concealer. Skip the powder, and use blotting sheets throughout the day if you get any excess shine.

Groom your brows with a brush and if you have any unruly hairs, set them with a clear gel, such as Anastasia’s Brow Gel, $21. As always, when working with shimmer or glitter eyeshadows, it’s important to apply a primer, such as Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance, $18, to limit fallout and improve color payoff. Next, go in with a shimmering rose gold eyeshadow, such as Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow in Scratch, $18. Look for a warm tone that has a bit of frost but not too much color. If you’re wearing this look for night, you could layer another glitter shadow on top but for day, stick to a more subtle shimmer. Next, take a pencil liner, such as bareminerals Round The Clock Waterproof Eyeliner, $15, and softly push it into your upper lash line. You don’t want a harsh line, but by filling in the gaps between your lashes, they will immediately look thicker. Jessica is obviously wearing false lashes, but for a more low maintenance look, opt for a volumizing mascara instead.

Give your cheeks that subtle flush with a cream product, such as Stila’s Convertible Color in Petunia, $25, and finish off your look with a bright lipstick, such as Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Natural in #N35, $19.
