Beauty Report: Barefaced Beauties at Stella McCartney

There’s one trend we’ve spotted this fashion month that hasn’t been on the catwalks, instead it’s been in the front row and on the streets. More and more style icons, street style stars, and heavy hitting journalists are going barefaced to the shows. With no makeup meltdown, smudged liner, or reapplying lipstick to worry about, this look is a testament to skincare and a step in a more minimalist direction. It seems that the team at Stella McCartney has noticed it too. McCartney was inspired by the models’ faces when they arrived first thing in the morning so tasked Pat McGrath to create a no-makeup look that would still stand up against the harsh flashes of Fashion Week cameras. The resulting look was a fresh and clean base with a touch of blush, a hint of eyeshadow and brown mascara to top it off. Massive flicks, victory rolls and high-maintenance up-dos step aside, this is a look we’ll definitely be trying.
