Beauty Report: The Ponytail to End All Ponies at Chanel

This season’s Chanel show was a feast for the senses, and will no doubt go down as one of the stranger shows Mr. Lagerfeld has produced, but there’s no disputing that this season’s beauty look made an impact. It was an incredible pairing of classic, fresh, glowing skin and groomed brows with neon liner and an effervescent metallic base. Not just that, but this pony has to be the most talked about tail in all of Fashion Month. Stylist extraordinaire Sam McKnight used a combination of Fudge Salt Spray and Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray ($21.50) on the extensions to get a rough, dreaded texture before weaving in every combination of braid, feather, rag, jewel and pearl. This look might be a bit much to try at home (we dread the thought of trying to unravel our hair after any attempt), but you can get a more wearable version by weaving a few braids into a highly textured, and slightly teased, ponytail. It’s a perfect look for festival season.
