Photographer Willy Vanderperre shot the Proenza Schouler ads with Natasha Poly that everyone is drooling over, and he’s also the man behind the lens for Jil Sander’s Spring 2012 campaign. The Jil Sander shots, like Proenza Schouler, also feature Natasha Poly in addition to models Daria Strokous, Clément Chabernaud, and Aiden Andrews. It seems like Vanderperre can do no wrong, because forum members were instantly smitten with this new campaign.
ALAUU noted that the images give her “an eery Hitchcock vibe,” which as far as I’m concerned, works really beautifully here and makes these ads stand out.
“Holy crap is this amazing,” Elfinkova posted. “This whole cast is killing it! Love the film noir concept; it suits the collection very well. By far my favorite campaign so far.”
Psylocke shared her reaction: “The whole campaign is so cinematic and captivating. I love what Willy did with the lighting in the shots with the stairs. Makes the whole thing, albeit very simple, look very creepy.”
Several forum members also pointed out that the broken glass imagery harkened back to a memorable Jil Sander ad campaign featuring Malgosia Bela in 2000. The connection adds an additional layer to the inspirations and references of images and concepts from the past. Either way, these images work, and we’re loving this campaign.
