Tom Ford‘s Fall 2015 collection failed to impress the majority of our forum members and we were hoping the advertising campaign would change our minds. The controversial designer tapped Instagram sensation Lucky Blue Smith to showcase the menswear collection while Ondria Hardin holds down the ladies corner. Photographed by Mario Sorrenti, the unlikely duo pose on a rocky hillside under a scorching climate wearing thick, heavy and layered-up pieces with seemingly great ease.
At first, our forum members weren’t so thrilled. “In the light of day, the collection looks even more horrendous. Awful makeup on Ondria too,” an uninterested Marc10 noted.
“I really don’t understand this. Wrong models, wrong photographer, awful clothing. That location looks so hot, especially with those wintery clothes. Tom Ford is so dead,” shared an underwhelmed anlabe32.
Moofins failed to show enthusiasm too, announcing, “Wow, this campaign just highlights how horrendous the collection was. Hard pass!”
“The womenswear is hideous no matter how it’s shown, but at least the campaign is something different from the usual Tom Ford ads. Never thought of Ondria as a TF girl, but she works,” said orchidee as we started to come around to the concept.
In agreement was Style Savvy: “You gotta give credit where it’s due. Even though Ondria and Lucky are not your typical Tom Ford model, they both killed it.”
“Ondria suits the 80s-hardcore sharpness of the Tom Ford woman beautifully,” pointed out Phuel.
