Irina Shayk hasn’t exactly given us many memorable magazine covers lately (starring on a few Vogue Spain covers here and there). But now another Spanish title tries its hand at shooting the Russian beauty with Harper’s Bazaar Spain handing her the cover of its December edition. The newly announced ambassador for L’Oréal Paris tones it down on the very front cover, gazing down the lens of Norman Jean Roy. Photographed in a dark studio, Irina models a Dolce & Gabbana piece teamed with a Valentino coat draped over the top and you’ll either love it or hate it.
Members of our forums were left divided regarding their opinions toward the cover. “She looks good but I’m bored by her modeling skills (always sexy and seductive). I’ve never seen her do something elegant,” complained DutchHomme.
“Probably because she isn’t elegant. It seems as though they tried, but obviously failed, here. Looks more like Adriana Lima to me, and I’m not sure whether that’s good or bad,” replied a disapproving Benn98.
KissMiss wasn’t feeling the cover either, ranting, “Agh, this magazine started so well and now it turned into Telva…”
“Why is Spain still trying to make her happen?” asked LondonLust, unwilling to show enthusiasm.
Thankfully, marsnoop2 lifted the mood, confessing, “Not a fan of Irina generally, but I think she looks lovely here and I really like the mood. Yes, there is a seductive aspect to it, but there’s a sadness that I really enjoy in the shot.”
“She is perfect for this. I love the climate of the cover. It’s so warm and cosy. Good job,” applauded narcyza.
