Michael Kors sure loves to serve up a strong (albeit redundant) concept for his namesake advertising campaigns. He’s gone from chartering private jets and luxurious yachts with Karmen Pedaru to tapping Russian bombshell Natasha Poly to lounge in the back of a vintage car last season. Sticking with luxurious motors but upgrading to a flashy convertible for Spring 2016, model Vanessa Moody poses (and gets in a quick power nap) before the lens of Mario Testino.
Members of our forums just weren’t in the mood. “This concept was used 40000000 times,” ranted madzedre the moment the campaign struck.
“What beautiful car seats. Wait! Oh hi Vanessa! I didn’t even see you there,” laughed an uninterested GivenchyHomme.
Also underwhelmed by the images was Lola701, suggesting, “Last season, Natasha was sitting in the car. This season, Vanessa is lying in the car. Maybe next season, the girl will be standing in the car… Instead of changing concepts and girls, Kors should change his photographer.”
Benn98 responded, “God knows what hold Mario Testino has over Kors, Burberry and Etro. They insist on booking him regardless of how terrible his work may look.”
“The luxurious car leather makes the fashion and accessories look cheap and flimsy,” mocked tigerrouge.
“Who takes a nap in the back of a convertible car clutching their bag with the door open? At least the ludicrous ski/swim/surfing/helicopter/limousine/private jet idea was actually somewhat ‘believable,'” protested Kite.
“Not mad about this girl, but these look fresh. Striking, rich colours and the clothes look good for Kors,” shared Benn98, expressing a different view.
