Oscar Nominee Brie Larson Is ELLE’s March Cover Girl (Forum Buzz)

Redesigns are all the rage this month with InStyle starting off the trend and now ELLE appears to have switched things up a notch, delivering a clean and minimalist cover for March 2016. The magazine welcomes Oscar nominee Brie Larson to its newly revamped edition, who looks fantastic wearing a lace dress from Givenchy before the lens of Terry Tsiolis.

The change left our forums with mixed views, however. “I think she’s a really good actress but in her print work she always looks so normal and bland IMO. This is the first time that she looks like a movie star. Still, I’m not sure I like it,” voiced an uncertain kokobombon.

“More modern? Huh!! This actually looks dated to me, like a random U.K. ELLE cover from 2005!!” critiqued Miss Dalloway.

Also not feeling it was justaguy, pointing out, “Neither the pose nor the positioning of her face, do her justice. Just looks awkward.”

“I’ve not quite warmed to Brie, so this looks OK… Probably this shot had to sell her to the general public, which is why it looks so generic. The boasted redesign is a letdown. It’s not as if they took major steps, but I imagine most of the changes will be noticeable throughout the magazine,” acknowledged Benn98.

Sharing the same sentiments was MyNameIs, replying, “Well that’s about to change when she wins the Oscar in a couple weeks. I don’t like the cover though. It’s not edgy enough to be edgy, yet they kind of tried to go in that direction so it’s not a girl next door either.”

“Brie is adorable and I am thrilled to see her get a cover, but this is such a weird angle it took me a second to even realize who it was. Not great, but still happy to see her,” admitted SallyAlbright, sharing a reasonable opinion.

Forum member blueorchid agreed and commented, “Say what you will about ELLE, I really appreciate that they try to put somewhat interesting actresses on their covers.”
