Members of our forums were pleasantly surprised. “Nice cover and I love the middle shot,” raved justaguy, showing some enthusiasm for Dakota’s accompanying editorial.

“Txema is an amazing photographer,” applauded madzedre the moment the cover dropped with Yeste rapidly becoming one of our favorite photographers.

In the same positive frame of mind was kokobombon, chiming in, “Great cover. A lot of text but the layout frames her face well so it doesn’t distract. She never looked better IMO.”

Soon after, things began to look rather dismal for Marie Claire. “It’s a lovely shot and perhaps her best cover yet, but I’m sorry, it looks like U.K. Glamour or Marie Claire. This shot does highlight her beauty, but they should leave the grey backdrop for winter,” Benn98 complained.

“Looking like the U.K. version is a bad thing?” asked kokobombon, in full disagreement mode.

“When you’re an American version, with a much bigger budget, then yes, it is a bad thing. They should be able to establish their own mood,” replied a disapproving Benn98.

Forum member narcyza wasn’t much of a fan, either, ranting, “Another boring cover with her. Give me a better actress please.”
