Ever since Anna Ewers made her debut on the fashion scene, our forums have pretty much been #TeamEwers, adoring each and every one of her many Vogue covers. Therefore, we were thrilled to see the German bombshell gracing the cover of Self Service‘s Spring/Summer 2016 edition. But when the biannual magazine throws Angolan model Maria Borges into the mix, we’re suddenly left with the dilemma of choosing a favorite cover. Anna was shot looking all dolled up by Self Service regular Ezra Petronio, while Maria served up a visually stimulating black and white cover shot before the lens of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Members of our forums made it clear which cover they prefer. “Maria gives me LIFE! So effortlessly chic and such a huge presence. I really hope she gets all the attention she deserves,” championed thiago:) immediately.
“This one with Maria is amazing. What a look!” approved an equally impressed narcyza.
“Maria’s is everything!!” hailed an awestruck fer19dog.
MON sure was a fan, declaring, “The Inez & Vinoodh cover is a masterpiece! Masterpiece.”
In the same frame of mind was Fiercification: “Bow to Maria…finally in a lane she deserves to be in. Anna’s cover is OK…I like the pearl/gold combo by Ezra P, looks kind of boring but good in a safe way.”
“Maria looks amazing! Don’t care about Anna’s cover tho,” shared guimon, also approving of the black and white image.
“Love the Maria Borges cover! The layout reminds me a lot of what they did before in 2009 with Raquel Zimmermann cover,” noticed Xone.
Creative soon replied: “Anna’s cover is sort of good. Reminds me of Raquel’s one: blond hair, pale complexion, pearls, red lips, shiny outfit… Raquel’s was a masterpiece, though.”
