Is Cara Delevingne having another moment in the fashion world? She staged a comeback earlier this month, returning for a Chanel eyewear campaign after going away to focus on her acting. Now solidifying her return, the Brit beauty is unveiled as the face of Saint Laurent‘s latest La Collection de Paris collection. Posing before the lens of Creative Director Hedi Slimane for the second time, Cara proves she’s the perfect choice to wear the 80s-inspired collection, looking dramatic and exuding glamour in the eye-catching black-and-white images.
The campaign left the majority of our forum members pleasantly surprised. “Strong and iconic imagery. Love these. Best work I’ve seen from Cara in ages,” applauded zoom at once.
“Cara is perfect for this,” confessed narcyza.
“I hate Cara for Chanel and a lot of other brands but she’s perfect for Saint Laurent. Her Fall 2013 campaign is probably their best yet, and this one is really good too. I just wish it wasn’t black and white since the collection had such great bold colors, but that’s always his thing,” Marc10 chimed in.
In agreement was justaguy. “This is the absolute best I’ve ever seen Cara, but even with that said, this is a miss for the Saint Laurent brand,” he shared, just as things started to get a little rocky.
“I thought Cara was over modelling. Such a shame other potential models aren’t being given the chance to shine. I think she looks great and the images have power, but I wish she’d go away now,” ranted Cosmic Voices.
Wolkfolk definitely wasn’t much of a fan, exclaiming, “You design a tribute collection for Paris but you choose Cara to front the campaign trying to emulate the ultimate Helmut Newton 80s Parisian-femme fatale fantasy… Just F**k Off Hedi!”
Sharing the same attitude was Creative: “Cara is totally miscast. She doesn’t fit in this sort of ultra glamorous, 80s powerful woman at all.”
