By now, we’re all well aware of the fact that Kristen Stewart is affiliated with Chanel. After all, the actress has taken to the front row of many Chanel shows (even walked in one), starred in a handful of campaigns for the iconic French fashion house and most recently was unveiled as the face of Chanel’s new mascara. Now, in a move that should surprise no one, Kristen is unveiled as the face of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2016 collection and stars in the cinematic new campaign. Of course shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself, Kristen looks beyond comfortable in the series of black-and-white images wearing the Rome-inspired collection, consisting of heavy, black fabrics and a mountain of lace.
Forum members were pretty wrapped up straight away. “Forever in love!” declared ThatGuyPaul at once.
“Love the styling and the second and third shots!” approved justaguy.
Also quick to show their approval toward the campaign was gius, sharing, “Nice look on her. I actually quite enjoy when something really says it’s Chanel, I’m surprised by this.”
“I actually like it, it’s nothing groundbreaking, but Kristen looks beautiful,” confessed dcmaike in amazement.
But everyone else was left underwhelmed. “I loved how refreshingly unfussy and straightforward and wearable this collection was, so it’s a shame to see such overly labored posing. Why is her head tilted so far up in pics one and three?” asked Steddycam91.
Benn98 wasn’t buying into it, either, ranting, “No, sorry! This is extremely sub-par. I like only the styling, hate it when Karl goes black and white… Kristen will never be a Chanel woman. I find her faux brand of confidence as off-putting as her awkwardness.”
“OMG, can’t believe how AWFUL this is. Her poses… They are as cheap and forced as they can get. And the photography is just lame…” discredited Creative.
Thefrenchy agreed, chiming in, “He’s a terrible photographer and there is nothing remotely ‘Chanel’ about her. Killer combo.”
