Bella Hadid Is Unrecognizable as a Blonde on Paper’s Winter 2016 Cover

While sister Gigi Hadid took home the award for International Model of the Year at The Fashion Awards earlier this week, Bella Hadid reminds us that she’s also a formidable presence in the industry. Not that we needed reminding since Bella has had quite the high-profile 2016, amassing a healthy amount of magazine covers (nine, to be exact), landing lucrative adverting campaigns and walking the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She now takes to the cover of Paper — as a blonde. Yes, gone are Bella’s trademark dark tresses in favor of a drastic ice-blonde look as she poses for photographer Nicolas Moore.

The drastic change didn’t win over our forum members, who were far from impressed. “I’m using my phone, and from the thumbnail alone, this looks like a Miss Fame makeup?” asked MON, referencing the famous drag queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“Miss Fame wouldn’t even have such ugly lip makeup,” laughed russianelf in response.

“More like Brooke Candy,” christian zh chimed in.

Also unwilling to show any sort of enthusiasm was Benn98. “This doesn’t look like her at all, more like a glorified MAC cosmetic campaign, I’m afraid. Such a wasted effort,” he disapproved at once.

Dodencebt wasn’t much of a fan either, commenting, “She needs to sue whoever made her nose, seriously.” Ouch!

“Not the finest moment of Bella’s modeling career, I have to agree. She doesn’t suit blonde hair and while I understand Paper‘s commercial aesthetic, this is very low-budget looking. Naff,” described an underwhelmed vogue28.
