Steven Meisel Brings Out the Best in Gigi Hadid for Max Mara’s Spring 2017 Campaign

As if posing on the covers of Vogue Japan, Allure and W Korea weren’t enough for Gigi Hadid to close out 2016 (and a Stuart Weitzman campaign for good measure), the International Model of the Year appears as the face of Max Mara accessories for Spring 2017. Returning for a third time for the Italian label, Gigi is once again in good hands with photographer Steven Meisel for the just-released campaign. Switching things up from the Fall ads, Gigi’s hair is styled in tight curls as she lays across the studio floor in the soft, dreamy and irresistibly feminine shot.

Members of our forums really liked Gigi’s latest gig. “I like it! Love the hair and she looks like a young Rebecca Gayheart here,” pointed out DutchHomme.

“Stunning shot, it’s got Carine [Roitfeld] written all over it. More than Meisel, actually. They seem to bring out the best in Gigi,” Benn98 admitted.

Also fond of the image was apple, writing, “What a great image! I would definitely stop reading to look at this shot in a magazine.”

Gazebo liked what he saw too. “It’s all about the hair. Very Seventies. Reminds me of a softer version of Guy Bourdin photography,” he admired.

“Bourdin for days! Love it,” zoom replied in agreement.

“Afraid I’m starting to sound like a broken record lately, since I’ve been nonstop oohing and ahhing over everything Gigi’s been doing. But I just cannot help but think this is fantastic. A nice change from Gigi’s last season campaign for Max Mara and I just love how this takes me back to Lily Donaldson‘s campaign for Spring 2008,” raved vogue28.

“The only angle in which I can bear the sight of her. Hiring Meisel was the best choice for this brand. Can’t wait to see the full campaign,” said anlabe32.

What do you think about the campaign, do you love it as much as we do? Await more and join the conversation here.
