Mario Testino Photographs Kendall Jenner for Vogue India’s 10th Anniversary Cover

Our suspicion that Mario Testino was set to guest edit yet another international edition of Vogue became a reality overnight as Vogue India unveiled its May 2017 issue. Celebrating the magazine’s 10 years in print, this marks Testino’s twelfth time as Vogue guest editor. Kendall Jenner channels her inner Indian goddess on the cover, wearing Saint Laurent amid the luxurious surroundings of the Hotel Samode Palace in Jaipur. Round-trip tickets to India, anyone?

Our forum members started voicing their opinions as soon as the cover broke earlier today. “One word: EW!” exclaimed a horrified WilliamsLe010919.

“Looking dead as always, which is a shame because the styling, concept and photography are amazing. Should’ve chosen a different model, that’s for sure,” critiqued Style Savvy.

Also not impressed was MON: “This had all the elements of being a stunning cover. You have a very beautiful location and somehow they decided to put her wearing something as equally busy. Talk about an eyesore. It would’ve been so much better if she were wearing something white, matched with the perfect amount of accessories. Something simple yet luxurious would’ve sufficed.”

“A collectors’ edition that makes you want to do the opposite of collecting it,” laughed an uninterested tigerrouge.

Anlabe32 certainly wasn’t going to rush to the newsstands, critiquing, “Not a good angle for her face. Truly awful cover!”

DutchHomme wasn’t feeling Kendall’s presence either. “She looks uncomfortable. She needs to learn how to relax her eyes and mouth,” he said.

Vogue India is kind of low for her. Perhaps this is the beginning of the end,” wondered GivenchyHomme.

“Surprised how much less awful this is than I expected from the thread title. She actually looks good, and works for Testino’s stiff glamour,” admitted Miss Dalloway.

Guess you’ll either love it or loathe it. Await more from the contents and join the debate here.
