Despite having a few Vogue covers under her belt, covering InStyle in March and being declared one of Marie Claire‘s fresh new faces this year, Emily Ratajkowski is still a rare sight at the newsstand (compared to the usual suspects we see each month). Emily now graces the August 2017 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia looking effortless and natural in the bold newsstand cover image (below), where she poses in the back of a convertible wearing Louis Vuitton.
Unfortunately, the cover left our forums divided. “This cover makes me realize how much presentation matters – if her image mostly consisted of work like this, I’d appreciate her as a gorgeous woman,” stated tigerrouge the moment the cover came to light.
“Love the image and styling, the blues are pleasing on the eye. Shame about the cover star. First Hailey Baldwin, now Emily. That said, this strategy of securing the lower tier Instagirls is a clever idea to keep the magazine relevant,” Benn98 chimed in.
“All blues and whites make it hard to read. Best cover of her I’ve seen though,” admitted whippe.
The cover failed to excite everyone. “At first glance I thought that was Kendull… and she looks as bland as Kendall here,” slammed an uninterested fluxxx.
Gain agreed, saying, “So true. I think the cover is hideous. Her face is lopsided and her pose is even worse!”
“All this blue is wrong. Emily looks better in paparazzi photographs,” narcyza ranted.
“Emily again? She’s going into overkill territory for me!” Handbag Queen added.
