Winona Ryder and Tracee Ellis Ross Win the Cover Wars for W Magazine’s Annual ‘New Royals Issue’

Now that Edward Enninful has moved across the pond to head up British Vogue (debut issue dropping in December, FYI), we never know quite what to expect from W Magazine. Despite the staff changes, the magazine continues on with its annual ‘The New Royals‘ issue for October. This year’s series of covers features Tilda Swinton, Winona Ryder, Hailee Steinfeld, Tracee Ellis Ross, Chris Hemsworth, James Corden and a whole host of others celebrities. Each star was photographed by Mario Sorrenti for a solo cover and with so many to choose from, it’s only natural for one or two to stand out from the pack.

Our forum members had no trouble deciding on favorites. “Wow, these covers are surprisingly good! Things will get better now that Edward is gone. Love Winona, Tracee and Saiorse’s covers. These are the best. The Tilda cover looks a bit overplayed, we’ve seen this so many times,” declared Benn98.

“I’m here for Winona. Robert P’s is so odd! It’s a shame James Corden’s has ended up coming off like a bit of a joke,” sighed honeycombchild.

“LOVE all of this. Every cover looks fantastic from what I can see. Robert P’s is awesome! And Winona – how I adore her,” wrote a delighted happycanadian.

Also batting for #TeamWinona was Zposen:  “This is very impressive. Winona’s cover is flawless!”

“Tracee and Winona’s covers are wonderful,” proclaimed forum member Lola701.

Maxlinden raved, “Tracee looks AMAZING! She has the best cover by far. Love Robert’s and Winona’s cover too.”

“Tracee, Winona and Chris are stellar, best ones IMO,” Nepenthes stated.

“WINONA! her cover is the best. Most of the others look interesting, but LOL at James Corden – no, thank you! The same goes with [Jared] Leto, and yikes at Trump’s in-laws being in this list!” commented mistress_f.
