Marc Jacobs just announced model-of-the-moment Adwoa Aboah as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty. Joining Kaia Gerber, Edie Campbell and Winona Ryder, the British model, feminist activist and British Vogue contributor fronts the newly unveiled campaign for 2018. Photographed by David Sims and styled by Katie Grand, Adwoa has never looked better, giving us major vintage (and Steven Meisel) vibes.
It’s fair to say that our forum members loved it. “Oh, wow! Her best image yet! I like everything about it. Very lively, and very colorful,” wrote Benn98 upon checking out the campaign image for the first time.
“The best Marc Jacobs Beauty campaign photo I’ve ever seen, and the strongest Adwoa Aboah shot I’ve seen too. She looks fantastic and I’m in love with everything about the image, from Katie Grand’s styling to the overall vintage feel the image possesses,” admired vogue28.
“I echo everyone’s sentiments – this is stunning,” chimed in dodencebt. “But I think it has much more to do with Sims than Adwoa’s modeling skills.”
“She looks great but I’m irrationally bothered by the gem on the tooth,” pointed out an eagle-eyed kenndale.
RMICHI1 was quick to pick up on the tooth accessory too. “It’s become her signature ever since the Love #17.5 cover, no? But agreed and definitely one of [the top], if not Adwoa’s top image I’ve seen. I love David Sims,” he raved.
“Her best image since the editorial she did with Mikael Jansson for Interview. Very Sims does Meisel vibes. However I also detest the gem on the tooth; so inappropriate for this ad and kind of kills it a bit,” added Fiercification.
