Lily-Rose Depp Lacks Presence on Vogue Japan’s Bland January 2018 Cover

Japan’s offerings throughout 2017 were pretty solid (despite a few mishaps here and there) and the magazine now readies us for the new year with the first issue of 2018, starring Lily-Rose Depp. From her advertising campaigns to cover appearances on the likes of Vanity Fair France and CR Fashion Book, our forums have had a love/hate relationship with the actress-slash-Chanel-brand-ambassador. Currently wearing (you guessed it) Chanel in the bland new cover of Japanese Vogue shot by Peter Lindbergh, Lily’s latest isn’t enough to win over tFS forum members.

Forum members, once again, complained about Lily’s lack of presence. “I like the black background, it’s a throwback to the mid-2000s. Unfortunately, the background is all I like. Lily is very dull in print. Nothing against her personally, but people should really stop forcing her on us,” GivenchyHomme stated the moment the cover struck.

“Is she supposed to look dead on purpose?” asked a dumbfounded Growl.

Sharing the same sentiments was forum member Miss Dalloway. “So sick of her dead face!!” she complained.

“If not even Lindbergh managed to photograph the essence of this girl, it means that she doesn’t have anything to show in front of a camera in my opinion,” voiced apple.

Lola701 agreed, saying, “It’s time to chill on the brand ambassadors. I feel like every time a celebrity is on a cover of something, she is tied to a brand!”

“I hate brand ambassadors,” echoed A.D.C.

Benn98 wasn’t buying it either: “Not bad, but it doesn’t evoke anything. It’s just there. Plus I’m sick of this dress!”
