After a remarkable 2017, it’s clear Bella Hadid isn’t going anywhere. A mere five days into 2018 and she’s already scored the cover of Vogue Korea, returned to star in the new Max Mara campaign and now reprises her gig as the face (and legs) of Giuseppe Zanotti. Zanotti commissioned photographic duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott to replace Mario Sorrenti, along with fashion icon Carine Roitfeld back on styling duties.
According to our forum members, the team has let standards slip for Spring 2018. “Sorrenti did it better, and I prefer the last season’s campaign,” commented badgalcrush the second the campaign dropped.
“Her body is banging! I’d take this any day over Stuart Weitzman. Although I’m not sure who would buy the shoes in the first image. Looks very dated,” noted Benn98.
“Her body looks great, but the images are a bit cheap and dated,” Nymphaea agreed.
Anlabe32 wasn’t too fond of the outcome either. “I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen something as unbelievably trashy as this,” she ranted.
Feeling the same way was forum member Zposen: “This looks very trashy to me…”
“I like Bella Hadid, I like Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and I’m usually a fan of Giuseppe Zanotti campaigns but this is so dreadfully dull and borderline depressing. I was dumbfounded when I saw M&M were credited as the photographers. What went wrong? This could’ve been a fabulous footwear campaign!” wrote vogue28.
“It looks like images for a W feature. The ones that aren’t good enough for a full page that usually accompany an article,” GivenchyHomme pointed out.
