You might find it hard to believe that Vogue Arabia is celebrating its two-year anniversary this month — because we sure did. Ever since hitting the newsstands back in 2017, the publication has been crushing boundaries and giving covers to subjects most other magazines wouldn’t dare use, like Halima Aden, Nora Attal, Iman, Paloma Elsesser and Nicki Minaj. To commemorate 24 months on the newsstand racks, Arabian Vogue welcomes back its very first cover girl: Gigi Hadid. Photographed by Peter Lindbergh and styled by Katie Trotter, the current cover girl of American ELLE and Vogue Hong Kong was photographed in Paris, starring in one of Lindbergh’s signature fashion portfolios.
The covers proved to be more of the same-old for our forum members. “Another day another Hadid cover,” sighed SophiaVB.
“She still not over? No wonder print is dying, the way magazines are so desperate for the crumbs tossed by this type of social media ‘influencers’ is an undignified spectacle,” Les_Sucettes chimed in.
“I like everything but her face on the first cover. Still can’t model if her life depended on it,” mocked khyrk.

“She looks sad and depressed,” called out mikel.
KissMiss commented, “I like the black and white cover although not sure if it’s the perfect cover shot. In the first shot, she looks like someone punched her and she’s got a black eye!”
Sharing the same sentiments was forum member MagFan: “A homeless alcoholic with a black eye!”
Although not everyone was quick to shut down the team’s efforts. “I really like this, it’s haunting but in a glamorous sense,” wrote Blayne266.
“Somehow it actually works, I certainly never seen her presented like this. Or expected to, so that is a welcome change,” added Miss Dalloway.
