Kaia Gerber and Steven Meisel Reunite for Jimmy Choo’s Fall 2019 Campaign

usually gets applause from our forum members. We’re the first to admit that not every magazine cover or advertising campaign shot by the legendary lensman is perfection (like Meisel’s campaign for Jimmy Choo last season). But the brand is determined to make the partnership work by picking Meisel and Kaia Gerber for its Fall 2019 ad campaign. Ditching the gray backdrop in favor of a clean, crisp and white studio setting, the three-time Vogue Paris cover girl poses up a storm unveiling Jimmy Choo’s new monogrammed collection.

Despite the brand’s best efforts, our forum members weren’t thrilled. “Kendall and Gigi did it better for Fendi!” voiced Benn98.

“Don’t think Kendall and Gigi did it better, but I agree this looks exactly just like that campaign!” artemovartem chimed in.

“Much prefer last season over this, largely due to the fact it reminds me of the Fendi campaign from 2017 with Kendall and Gigi. It feels like such a blatant copy. Also feel like the new JC monogram handbags need more exposure — they’re completely lost here,” added vogue28.

“I don’t mind the poses and styling, but the graphic design is so cheesy, it ruins it IMO,” disapproved kokobombon.

TommysBaby wasn’t much of a fan, either. “Kaia by Meisel: I had high expectations when I clicked on the thread, but it’s not as exciting as it sounded. I do see the similarity with that Kendall and Gigi Fendi campaign and that was much better. Also the JC logo is so unnecessary — I immediately think Juicy Couture, NOT Jimmy Choo. Why is everyone jumping on the logomania bandwagon?”

“This…is coming from Meisel? How the mighty have fallen,” noted Ken Doll Jenner.
