Elle Fanning Goes Retro for Tatler’s November 2019 Cover

We’ve been hooked on Tatler ever since Richard Dennen took over the magazine back in early 2018. The new EIC has given us buzzworthy covers featuring the likes of Nicole Kidman, Joan Collins, Julianne Moore and Olympia Campbell. In an effort to keep the hits coming, Tatler just dropped an eye-catching cover starring Elle Fanning. The actress and firm forum favorite serves retro Hollywood glam in the November 2019 cover photo lensed by Jack Waterlot. Elle stuns in a mustard Carolina Herrera number teamed with a Julia Clancey headscarf styled by Sophie Pera.

The cover immediately caught the attention of our forum members. “I don’t like the fading on the left part, but other than that it’s quite a striking cover,” confessed mikel.

“Yes, the fading and definitely that chunky text. But other than that, this cover is perfection. Love it when Tatler is so unapologetically posh and not trying to be cool or hip or topical. The colors and styling also work. Another winner for Dennen!” Benn98 championed.

“I love this,” raved jorgepalomo.

“Very [Steven] Meisel for British Vogue, I love it. Elle looks absolutely stunning!” shared aracic.

Also sharing the same level of enthusiasm was MON: “This is stunning. British Vogue should take notes. You can have the best of both worlds (a) stick with your 60s shtick and (b) go outdoors. Way better than the Kaia Gerber cover. A play of prints and color.”

“Yeah, I love the retro feeling you get from the cover,” FashionMuseDior chimed in.

“Another solid offering from Tatler and I continue to be impressed by what Richard Dennen is doing with the magazine. Beautiful cover, love the colors, the retro styling on Elle Fanning throughout and love how the muted teal shade of the masthead complements the cover shot,” admitted vogue28.
