US Vogue November 2019 : Rihanna by Ethan James Green

Vogue Just Won November With a Glorious Rihanna Cover

just made our month by giving us a glorious Rihanna cover to fawn over. The Barbadian songstress, makeup mogul, fashion designer and all-around sensation enthralls us on the regular, whether she’s gracing the cover of British Vogue, Vogue Australia, Allure or W (to name a select few). Since 2011, Rihanna’s covers for American Vogue have been nothing short of spectacular so we welcome the sight of RiRi with open arms on the November 2019 cover of the fashion bible, which marks her sixth appearance on the mag’s cover. RiRi wears her eponymous label Fenty (natch) courtesy of Tonne Goodman for the Ethan James Green-lensed shot that left our forum members (almost) speechless.

Also in total awe was Marc10: “It’s so simple yet so piercing. One of the best cover images I’ve seen in a very long time.”

“This is a glorious cover! Ethan nailed this beautifully. Best American Vogue cover in years,” agreed mepps.

“Can’t imagine anyone surpassing this cover in November, amazing!” declared dontbeadrag.

“I cannot believe this is a real cover. It’s quite dark and raw — which is not a bad thing at all — but it is so out of tune with the vision that U.S. Vogue has been projecting,” confessed dodencebt.

In the same frame of mind was xandroh: “Super in love with this cover. This and last month’s Olivia Colman cover cleansed my eyes of the dirt that were the past months’ issues, especially the ones with Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift. It’s dark, simple and toned down, but it strikes me. U.S. Vogue can never go wrong with Rihanna.”
