UK Harper’s Bazaar March 2020 : Emily Blunt by Pamela Hanson

Even Emily Blunt Can’t Save British Harper’s Bazaar’s Boring March 2020 Covers

British Harper’s Bazaar hasn’t exactly been on a roll lately. Take last month’s Victoria Beckham offering. In an effort to turn the tide, the mag gives us Emily Blunt for March 2020. Taking to the cover 14 months after her last appearance, the actress was photographed by Pamela Hanson on location in Brooklyn. Styled by Leith Clark, Emily wears Alexander McQueen on the newsstand cover (below) and is decked out in Christian Dior for the subscribers’ alternative (after the jump).

But the covers failed to impress our forum members. “Not sure what’s going on with her outfit in the newsstand cover. It’s as if she’s holding a headless baby doll,” called out Srdjan.

“A little too neutral,” voiced an underwhelmed Urban Stylin.

“Can’t believe a team of professionals signed off on this. Looking at last month and this cover and edit, can anyone honestly say they’re doing better without Justine Picardie?” proclaimed Benn98.

“This is a pitiful offering for a March issue — dire to be completely honest. I’ve nothing against Emily Blunt, but think Pamela Hanson’s banal photography and the styling here do absolutely nothing for Emily (especially when compared to her electric January 2011 cover by Paola Kudacki),” declared vogue28.

“Blunt describes the mood of the cover and the contents pretty much perfectly,” wrote slayage.

“The definition of banal,” added KINGofVERSAILLES.
