Marion Cotillard Is the New Face of Chanel’s Iconic N°5 Fragrance

Virginie Viard continues to find her footing at Chanel post-Karl Lagerfeld. Now, five collections in and three advertising campaigns later, the designer taps Marion Cotillard as the face of Chanel’s legendary N°5 scent. No stranger to the high-fashion market, you may remember that the French actress was previously affiliated with Christian Dior starring in many handbag campaigns for the brand until she was ultimately dropped in 2017. Now working with Chanel, Marion has quite frankly never looked better. The flawless black and white teaser for the upcoming N°5 campaign lensed by forum favorite Steven Meisel has us excited.

Members of our forums were left in awe. “Meisel? For Chanel? Bring this on!” cheered dontbeadrag the moment the news came to light.

“WOW, so happy for Marion! A Chanel N°5 campaign is the jewel of the crown. And photographed by Steven Meisel, too? This will push her back into the spotlight because her fashion profile took a bit of a dip after Dior sacked her,” commented Benn98.

“In your face Maria Grazia! Who would want to work for her when you have Chanel and Meisel!” GivenchyHomme pointed out.

“Dior who?” joked dfwn2n.

Also in love with the new partnership was TaylorBinque: “Once you get a Dior contract, the only way to top it is Chanel. Well played, Marion.”

“Beautiful! I hope they keep Meisel for more than one season. And it would be great if they could get him to shoot their fashion campaigns. Perhaps he’d manage to put some life into those dreadful collections,” said aracic.

“A fabulous partnership and a truly fabulous and heavenly portrait to match. Absolute nail on the head with this, the photograph of Marion just screams beauty, feels expensive and looks otherworldly. I’m extremely keen to see the official advertising campaign now after such an exquisite teaser!” proclaimed vogue28.
