Freja Beha Erichsen and David Sims Team Up for Prada’s Pre-Fall 2020 Campaign

We were definitely disappointed when Miuccia Prada ditched Steven Meisel as Prada’s campaign photographer back in 2017. Since then, we’ve endured several underwhelming Willy Vanderperre campaigns, witnessed a Drew Vickers and Keizo Kitajima pairing and tolerated Jamie Hawkesworth’s Spring 2020 offering. Following the news that Raf Simons is the brand’s new co-creative director, change is once again in the air over at Prada. Shot by David Sims and styled by Olivier Rizzo, the Pre-Fall 2020 campaign features Freja Beha Erichsen showcasing the bold and print-heavy collection.

The campaign was an absolute hit on our forums. “Yes! Thank you! Finally! This works from the beginning to the end because the campaign — and the collection — is quintessential Prada. Makes me want to spend money on the brand again,” declared RaisinBoy.

“This is really great. Reminds of those early 2000s Balenciaga ads,” Marc10 pointed out.

“I find the evolution of Sims truly remarkable! Because the campaign is so confident it makes me focus all the more on the clothes. Everything looks stunning,” applauded Benn98.

“Prada’s advertising looks great without Willy. I hope Miuccia won’t allow Raf to bring him back!” added GivenchyHomme.

“Love this, Freja’s the ultimate Prada model,” proclaimed Urban Stylin.

Nomar couldn’t agree more: “Freja delivers again!”

“David Sims did wonders with the photography, love the black and white mixed with color and Freja’s modeling here is brilliant,” voiced vogue28.
