We’re always down for 90s supermodels greeting us down at newsstands. Whether it’s Naomi Campbell on i-D or Carolyn Murphy, Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta bringing us pure joy on WSJ. Magazine, our forum members are a happy bunch. Now Cindy Crawford makes a surprise appearance on the cover of Vogue Brazil for May 2021 marking the publication’s 46th anniversary. For her first time fronting the Brazilian fashion bible, Cindy sports big hair, subtle makeup and a Louis Vuitton blazer in the stunning black and white shot snapped by photographic duo Luigi & Iango.
The outcome divided our forum members. “Messy hair can look sexy and insouciant, but as the years go by, it can also make you look like a madwoman who hoards cats,” declared tigerrouge.
“If anybody should retire, it’s Cindy. Her look is too 90s and her kind of sexy is not à la mode anymore. Naomi, Christy and Kate still hold their own, Photoshop or not…” said dontbeadrag.
“Her look is played out for me at this point. It’s a shame nobody seems to want to try anything else with her,” wrote MyNameIs.

But not everyone shared the same outlook. “Never enough of Cindy. She has so much power and presence. Something that is missing a lot in today’s Vogue,” stated michelabella.
“Luigi & Iango photographing supermodels, what’s not to like? Beautiful cover! Cindy will forever remain an iconic beauty in my opinion and this cover is an instant win for me,” raved aracic.
“I’ve zero interest in Vogue Brazil except for whenever Luigi & Iango are photographing the magazine’s front covers. Covers with Gigi Hadid, Christy Turlington and Alek Wek have thrilled me in the past — and this is no exception. How wonderful to see Cindy Crawford!” vogue28 pointed out.
