Nicolas Ghesquière Photographs Vogue Korea’s 25th Anniversary Covers

Since mid-2020 Nicolas Ghesquière has been trying his hand at photography. The French fashion designer, who has been at the helm of Louis Vuitton since 2013, captured the brand’s Fall 2020, Cruise 2021 and Spring 2021 advertising campaigns. He now steps back behind the lens for Vogue Korea photographing the title’s 25th anniversary covers. Impressing us with Blackpink, Edie Campbell and Raquel Zimmermann covers of late, the Korean fashion bible’s latest sees Mona Tougaard, Rianne Van Rompaey and Sora Choi front the celebratory issue for August 2021 wearing looks from Vuitton’s Fall 2021 collection selected by Ghesquière’s long-time collaborator Marie-Amelie Sauvé.

The covers left a lot to be desired for our forum members. “Oh please Nicolas, just be a designer,” voiced GivenchyAddict.

“Nicolas darling, you’re no Karl Lagerfeld,” added aracic.

“I can’t with Nicolas using Louis Vuitton’s money to finance his dream of being a photographer!” declared DK92.

“There is a flat dullness to these covers. No depth. No life. Children take more dynamic pics on their iPhones. Nicolas has no business with a camera,” stated zoom.

GivenchyHomme shared the same sentiment: “Nicolas you are not a photographer. Please stop.”

“This is going on the list of the worst covers I’ve ever seen. How do you go out of your way to make an all-star cast look as bad as possible?” asked SLFC.

“There are far more talented photographers out there. Why not give an unknown but talented South Korean photographer a break by choosing them to shoot your 25th anniversary issue?” proclaimed Paul Lintag.
