US Harper’s Bazaar December 2021/January 2022 : Hunter Schafer by John Edmonds

Hunter Schafer Shines on the December 2021/January 2022 Cover of Harper’s Bazaar

It would be an understatement to say that throughout most of 2021, Harper’s Bazaar simply hasn’t been our go-to fashion title. It’s all thanks to a slew of unimpressive covers despite the presence of A-list talent like Nicole Kidman, Beyoncé and Jane Fonda. Now to close out the year, the publication welcomes Hunter Schafer for December 2021/January 2022. In the cover image, the model, actress and activist wears a sequin Prada creation picked by Stella Greenspan for the shot captured by John Edmonds.

The end result took our forum members by surprise. “I like the colors,” admired mikel the moment the cover dropped.

“This is the most exciting cover so far under Samira’s tenure. Hunter looks beautiful and what really sets it apart, for me, is that they didn’t go the obvious Euphoria route and instead they let her natural beauty take center stage,” appreciated KINGofVERSAILLES.

“Samira finally knows how to saturate her covers. I love this!” raved crmsnsnwflks.

“This is undoubtedly my favorite cover under Samira…” proclaimed aracic.

“Hunter my dear, finally! It was about time!” declared JPineapple.

Not everyone shared the same level of enthusiasm, however. “What a bland cover,” voiced liberty33r1b.

“Not a very flattering shot of Hunter,” an underwhelmed woemwoem pointed out.

“I still don’t know where Samira wants to take this magazine,” said MON.

“Despite the nice coloring, this still feels like just another glum and lifeless Harper’s Bazaar cover to add to the pile during Samira Nasr’s extremely tedious and uneventful tenure. I will, however, give Nasr major kudos for giving newsstands a wash of transgender representation,” added vogue28.
