Vogue France December 2021/January 2022 : Isabelle Huppert by Paolo Roversi

Isabelle Huppert’s Long-Overdue Vogue France Cover Is Finally Here

This time of year we always begin guessing who will guest edit the holiday issue of Vogue Paris France. In recent years Léa Seydoux, Virginie Efira, Rihanna, Karl Lagerfeld and Vanessa Paradis have taken on the role. With Eugénie Trochu at the helm, however, guest-edited issues appear to be a thing of the past. Now the publication welcomes Isabelle Huppert to the cover of the French fashion bible’s double holiday issue to wrap up 2021 and usher us into 2022. The iconic French actress wears a navy Charles de Vilmorin haute couture creation picked by Jonathan Huguet for the image captured by Paolo Roversi.

The cover divided our forum members. “Isabelle is a cinema and fashion icon. A long-deserved first Vogue cover for her. Took them long enough,” voiced THD96.

“About time. Incredible that this is her very first. She deserves it,” echoed ivano.

“THE QUEEN! Finally! I love the cover! And I don’t mind the dress, it adds drama. A guest-edited issue would have been a dream though,” Lola701 chimed in.

“Isabelle is simply divine and it’s shocking it took them this long to give her a cover. Another win from them!” declared [Piece Of Me].

“I find this to be an absolutely beautiful cover. I love the dynamic of the garment and her elegant look,” admired aracic.

“The fact that we have Isabelle Huppert on the cover of French Vogue does feel like something to celebrate! Yet while I do admire some aspects of the cover, I’m still in a state of shock as to how rapidly this magazine has deteriorated and become a shadow of its former self,” shared vogue28.

WinstonH20 was also far from impressed: “Isabelle on Vogue France feels right, but what on earth is that Vilmorin dress? It looks so stiff, like some kind of cheap polyester Halloween witch costume.”

“I don’t hate it completely, but she does look like she’s being strangled/eaten by an octopus,” proclaimed MyNameIs.
