Detractors may worry that Port’s alone time on the catwalk will give Milan and Paris more ammunition to strong arm New York into cutting its fashion week by a couple days next September (Port is showing on the last day of NYFW, on the 15th).
And, true: our fashion week could keep living and breathing and thriving with or without The City star, but let’s not forget that Paris handed over a portion of its historic fashion week to KANYE WEST and his failure of a debut collection.
Whitney Eve isn’t a groundbreaking or innovative fashion label, but its past collections have been kind of cute. And Whitney Port is a red carpet style Jedi. And I like her, because she kind of just looks like a normal girl that stumbled into the spotlight and found a way to stay in the spotlight without going on Celebrity Rehab or going out with with Leonardo DiCaprio or some other famous slimeball as tabloid-bait. Good for her for trying to do something real. I like when people try; I like when people do things.
