Ethereal wanderlusts, brides-to-be and anyone who appreciates magnificent clothing, take note: Lover have just released a capsule collection demonstrating what they do best, which is delicate lace dresses that dreams are made of.
‘White Magick’ sees designers Nic Briand and Susien Chong dipping into their archives to reincarnate 16 of their most coveted dresses from the last decade in either pure white or ivory lace. This includes the white hot Black Magick frock that had them labeled “one to watch” over five years ago when it was paraded down their S/S 2005 runway on Miranda Kerr. Now available in white or ivory, it sits in good company alongside equally desirable gowns plus one jumpsuit that could totally sneak down the aisle without looking at all out of its element.
The decision to re-release the dresses came about when Chong and Briand became aware of just how bananas customers were going to track down particular frocks from seasons past. Sartorially discerning fans and future brides were flooding their Facebook page with requests for out-of-stock styles, and searches for “Lover Black Magick Dress” on eBay either prove fruitless or tremendously expensive.
The capsule collection was revealed to a select few Lover devotees at the brand’s new flagship store in Sydney’s Strand Arcade, and will be sold exclusively through the same. See the full lookbook on their website, starring Nicole Pollard and Amanda Ware.
