Tina Turner Covers Vogue Germany

Here's a 73-year-old Tina Turner on the cover of Vogue Germany. "Simply the best!" reads the cover line, accurately.

Photographed by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer and styled by Nicola Knels in Giorgio Armani, the performer/legend is possibly the oldest person to cover an issue of Vogue, ever. This is also her first Vogue cover. (As Fashionista points out, 62-year-old Meryl Streep was the previous record holder with her cover for American Vogue's January 2012 issue).

I'm sorry, were you under the impression that you could get out of this post without watching a Tina Turner music video? Here's "What's Love Got To Do With It," which was filmed in 1984. The orange lipstick (and really, the whole beauty look, even including that intense spiky bleached pseudo-mohawk) became an iconic Tina thing, and you can see for yourself how it's referenced in the cover above.

Please: more talented, smiling, non-white, non-teenagers looking phenomenal on the covers of fashion magazines!
