For Elle Vietnam’s ‘Dark Couture’ spread, Chrystal was shot in Paris by Benjamin Kanarek wearing – take a deep breath, now – Chanel, Valentino, Giambattista Valli, Elie Saab, Stéphane Rolland, Maison Martin Margiela, Atelier Versace, Dior, Armani Privé, Alexis Mabille, Gaultier Paris and Schiaparelli by Christian Lacroix. Phew. Those responsible for dressing her must have been given the best workout of their lives considering the Mabille and Schiaparelli gowns alone feature more fabric than an Ikea.
The dilapidated, graffitied warehouse setting is basically the polar opposite of Miley’s mansion, so it’s nice to see the gowns in a different context. Chrystal even wears the exact same Atelier Versace gown that Miley wore atop the seat of that shiny black motorcycle, the glitter-trimmed sheer paneling somehow looking almost virginal in comparison. The absence of rhinestone pumps and Terry Richardson probably helped with that.
