Kate Moss Celebrated at the British Fashion Awards 2013

On Monday, fashion royalty descended upon London town in order to attend the British Fashion Council’s prestigious British Fashion Awards. Previous years have acknowledged many of the industry’s favourites like Cara Delevingne as Model of the Year, Alexa Chung as Style Icon (which she was crowned for three consecutive years), and even Victoria Beckham’s transition into a much sought-after fashion designer by awarding her the Designer Brand of the Year.

This year, it was all about Kate Moss who received a Special Recognition award for her career in fashion. Perfectly styled as always, she attended the awards in a cool leather dress, white fur coat and heels.

We were sad to see Cara Delevingne lose her crown this year, as the beautiful Edie Campbell was named Model of the Year… But she definitely deserved the recognition as her career is certainly gaining momentum. First appearing in a British Vogue shoot by Mario Testino, she’s gone on to feature in ad campaigns for leading brands such as Burberry and Stella McCartney, and was even asked to close the Spring 2014 Chanel Haute Couture show.

The New Establishment Designer award was given to the very talented JW Anderson, a designer that we’ve been tipping for big things for quite some time now. We can’t wait to see what plans he’s got tucked up his sleeve for the forthcoming year.

Sadly, Miss Chung was also nowhere to be seen amongst this year’s winners, and in the personal style stakes, One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles walked away with the public voted British Style Award. There’s no denying that he does dress well, but let’s face it, the others stood no chance with all of the those little One Direction fans casting their votes!

Head over to the British Fashion Awards’ site to check out the full list of winners.
