We always expect Raf Simons‘ Christian Dior shows to be a spectacle — who could forget last year’s stunning display at the Kew Gardens greenhouse where he covered the place in flowers? Or the designer’s grand debut for the house, when he built a set made entirely from blooms? If it’s one thing Simons knows, it’s how to put on a show, and Spring 2015 is expected to be another exciting display for showgoers.
WWD reports that Dior is all set to debut its latest collection in one of Paris’ most famous landmarks: The Louvre. The show will take place in the museum’s west wing at the Cour Carrée, where Simons is expected to build some sort of structure to house the show.
It is indeed very fitting that Simons would show his wares — which in themselves will probably be like works of art — in the same place where the Mona Lisa is housed. We have no doubts it will be a sight to see.
