We understand spring racing headwear can get a little cray-cray. But Samantha Armytage‘s fascinator for Myer’s Spring Racing Lunch on Monday, September 8, was a whole new kettle of fish. The Sunrise presenter decided an old-fashioned newspaper rolled up in a bow would sit nicely on her head for the event, held at Flemington Racecourse.
Samantha’s definitely not Bringing Sexy Back with this outfit. Maybe, just maybe, the monochromatic newspaper hat, designed by Ann Shoebridge, could’ve made the cut with a sexy LBD. Instead, Samantha opted for a mulitcoloured Alex Perry number in lace, with far too much going on for our liking.
As a journalist, Samantha probably thought she was pretty clever by bringing attention to the dying print publication with her outfit. Unfortunately for her, we’re thinking she could make headlines for a different reason.
