The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is less than a month away, but pretty much everyone is already stoked for the lingerie label’s annual spectacle. The show will be presented in London for the first time and, of course, we’re taking notes as details surface. Because we know you can’t get enough of VS or its angels, here is everything we know so far about this year’s show.
1. The show will take place at Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre on December 9
The West London venue is huge. It has hosted the BRIT Awards, the Olympics and holds about 19,000 people.
2. There is a black tie dress code
Guests at this year’s show will have to come dressed to the nines. Though VS is staging the event in London, WWD says the theme was inspired by Truman Capote’s 1966 Black and White ball, which was held in New York City.
3. The show is divided into six categories
Viewers will be treated to six mini-collections of sorts for this year’s show: Gilded Angels, Exotic Traveler, Dream Girl, Fairy Tale, University of Pink and Angel Ball.
4. Lily Donaldson will wear a very heavy piece
The model will take the stage in a Serkan Cura-designed 40-pound piece that has wings and 150,000 Swarovski Crystals.
5. Lindsay Ellingson will model a ‘Gilded Angels’ number
Modelinia has the tea on Lindsay Ellingson’s glittering outfit (complete with wings, naturally) for the show. It is a metallic gold monokini, its square paillettes pieced together to create a kind of disco ball effect. The look is completed with giant golden wings, gold gladiator sandals and a white train with gold sequins attached.
6. There are 79 outfits in all
This year’s show will feature ten more outfits than last year, which we’re guessing is a bonus for being in London.
7. You can buy tickets to the show
According to the Telegraph, tickets will set you back around $16,000 to see the show and around $19,000 if you want to go to the afterparty too.
8. There will be two fantasy bras
Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima will model this year’s fantasy bras, worth about $2 million each. The pieces were designed by Pascal Mouawad and have about $16,000 worth of jewels each.
9. The girls will take an airplane to London together
Candice Swanepoel told us last week that all the Victoria’s Secret girls will pile on a plane together to make their way to London. Oh, to have a seat on that flight!
10. 47 girls will walk
According to WWD, the casting directors added seven more girls to this year’s lineup.
