Theory Adds Accessories Options

Soon, you’ll be able to have a bag and shoes to match your Theory dress, now that the company has unveiled its first accessory offering of chic carryalls and fly footwear. And you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on the products as WWD confirms they are due to hit shelves January 15.

Even with the exit of designer Olivier Theyskens, Theory is pressing on and has hired new staff to help in this latest endeavor. The line will open with three soft bag styles, ranging in price from $295 to $745. There is the Urban with its flap closure and interchangeable straps, a leather clutch called the Post, which also has changeable straps, and a simple tote called the Signature. The bags are rendered in leather and leather-backed suede, and boast a minimal aesthetic with simple silhouettes and understated branding.

Theory has done shoe collections in the past as capsule collaborations with designers, so for its official first shoe range, the label tapped CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize recipient Paul Andrew to help. The label is kick-starting its new product line with a small, two-style offering that includes a flat sandal with thick, crossing straps and a chunky-heeled sandal. But don’t worry — the brand plans on releasing five more shoe styles for pre-fall.

Keep your eyes peeled for Theory’s new accessory offerings, which will be available January 15 at Theory stores and Theory.com.
