And the Pantone Color of the Year Is…

Pantone has announced its color of the year, Marsala. If the oxblood-burgundy hue looks familiar to you, it’s probably because you’ve seen it in a wine glass before you passed out on the couch binge-watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix.

But possibly the best thing about the announcement is Pantone’s lofty description of the color, which, not gonna lie, is making us really, really hungry. According to the Pantone website, Marsala is a “tasteful hue” that “embodies the richness of a fulfilling meal.” We can feel ourselves getting post-meal fatigue just looking at it.

In the end, we’re just glad Pantone picked a color that can flatter more than .2% of the population. This oxblood hue is perfect for makeup, apparel and home items – looks like 2015 is shaping up to be quite a chic year.
