Joe Zee to Host the Second Annual Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards

He’s a mentor, a writer, a producer and a fashion visionary. And now Joe Zee will be adding host to his impressive CV as he gets ready to take the stage at the second annual Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA) on January 31 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. The native Torontonian (Hong Kong born Zee moved there with his family at the tender age of 1) and current editor-in-chief of Yahoo! Style will also be recognized with the Vanguard Award at the event, which celebrates rising and established Canadian fashion stars.

Zee’s illustrious career includes posts at W magazine as fashion director, creative director of ELLE as well as regular appearances on reality TV series like The City and his own Sundance Channel series All On The Line. He’s worked with fashion luminaries like Patrick Demarchelier and Annie Leibovitz, and has styled the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lopez. And it’s thanks to these massive accomplishments, as well as his continued support of the Canadian fashion industry, that led CAFA founders Vicky Milner, Brittney Kuczynski and Susan Hart to approach Zee about hosting this year’s awards.

“CAFA is starting a movement in Canada and creating a platform for the future of Canadian fashion,” Zee said in a statement. “I’m so honoured to be a part of this amazing event that recognizes exceptional Canadian fashion and design talent here in Canada and around the world.”

Roots Co-Founders Michael Budman and Don Green will act as the CAFA’s 2015 Honorary Chairs.
