A little hump day hilarity for you in which Julianne Moore fact checks InStyle magazine in the most public way possible. The lady mag tweeted out a link to an interview with the actress where she details how she gets red carpet ready. “I like a good spray tan—it’s a must,” she told the magazine. Seems like a pretty acceptable answer — except Julianne says she wasn’t being serious when she said it.
When the mag tweeted Julianne’s beauty regimen, the actress swiftly responded to set the record straight.

Oops. When we think about it, of course she was kidding. The star’s fair complexion is a dead giveaway that she probably isn’t hitting the tanning salon prior to the red carpet, but her comments could have confused the interviewer: “You have no idea how white I am because this is tan! Can you imagine what I’d look like without one? That would be horrible.” We can see how someone would have mistaken her self-deprecating joke for a real admission.
Alas, these things tend to happen when Mercury is in retrograde.
