With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’re all feeling rather amorous, so the news of Disney’s live-action Cinderella movie couldn’t come at a better time. To celebrate, Disney has collaborated with nine fashion designers to reimagine her famous glass slipper in anticipation of the movie’s launch at the end of March.
Jimmy Choo, Salvatore Ferragamo, Alexandre Birman, Charlotte Olympia, Stuart Weitzman, René Caovilla, Paul Andrew, Nicholas Kirkwood and Jerome C. Rousseau have each designed a shoe to complement a modern day Cinderella’s wardrobe, with a hint of their signature twists. The shoes will be available at select stores around the world, such as Harrods in London and New York City’s Saks Fifth Avenue.
So far, we’ve only been treated to a sneak peek of the shoe designs in the form of the designers’ sketches. From Charlotte Olympia’s star and crystal adorned transparent platforms to Paul Andrew infusing his iconic pointed toe silhouette with a glass effect twist, we can’t wait to see the final pieces. You can view the sketches in the slideshow below.
