The Apple Watch Is Officially Dropping Next Month

Today, in addition to a few other impressive updates to the Apple family – like the new gold MacBook – the tech giant unveiled more about the much-anticipated Apple Watch. Since first teasing it back in September, Apple seems to have been on a tour trying to beef up the watch’s street cred, particularly amongst the fashion set. After all, it may be a tech item, but the Apple Watch is still an accessory that has to be stylish.

Apple also revealed that it’s chosen Christy Turlington to help promote the watch’s advanced fitness features. The supermodel actually used the watch to run a half marathon (a first for Apple) to benefit her Every Mother Counts organization and will continue to push the new tech item in a weekly blog that will focus on her preparation for the Virgin Money London Marathon. Of course, Turlington will be running the race with an Apple Watch around her wrist .

Pre-orders for the device start April 10. On that date, Apple will also make a few samples available in stores so that customers can try out the three watch collections. The Apple Sport options are priced between $349 and $399, the Apple Watch version ranges from $549 to $1,099, and the big kahuna, the 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition starts at $10,000.

You’ll be able to get your hands (or wrist) on the device when it hits stores April 24 in the U.S., U.K., China, Japan, France, Canada, Germany, Australia and Hong Kong.
