Chris Hemsworth Will Make His Return to Summer Bay Tonight

Super-hunk Chris Hemsworth, known around the world for his roles in films like The Avengers franchise, has surprised fans and former co-workers by returning to the place where his acting career started, Australia’s own Home And Away.

Chris played Kim Hyde on the long-running soapie from 2004 to 2007, and, when visiting the set in October of last year, the 31-year-old Hollywood star decided that a quick hello just wasn’t going to cut it.

New Idea reports that
the married father-of-three wasn’t content with just catching up with his former colleagues. Showing how humble and unaffected by international stardom he really is, Chris requested to be featured on the show and jumped in as an extra for a scene at Summer Bay’s local diner.

Even if it is a quick blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role, it speaks volumes about the star who has never forgotten where he got his start.
“I loved Home and Away and I credit everything I do to it,” he has previously said of his time on the show. “I was 19 when I started working on that show. I had such a great time.”

Despite his A-Lister status, he does a brilliant job of blending into the background wearing a grey shirt and a black baseball cap, which couldn’t be further away from the dapper red carpet looks we’re used to seeing him in nowadays.

I think we can all agree that the sun is shining on Summer Bay today.

Catch the episode tonight at 7pm on Channel Seven.
