The last couple of weeks have been celebrity-filled for Australia, with Cara Delevingne and Channing Tatum hitting our shores, and the next couple of weeks are set to be just as big with Amy Schumer, Bill Hader, Khloé Kardashian, and Gigi Hadid also coming to town.
Gigi is set to arrive in Sydney this August for a project with Guess, launching the label’s Spring 2015 collection. “I’ve worked with Guess my whole life and I am so excited to come back,” the model of the moment told Perth Now.
Gigi explains that the new collection is “such a cool Californian beach vibe” and “the essence of Malibu”, which is sure to be a hit for the Australian beach-goers.
With Guess helping to kickstart the 20-year-old’s career, she shows a great dedication to the brand. “A lot of people don’t know that my first fashion show ever was Guess’ 30th year anniversary in LA and that was really the first time I walked in front of a big crowd, it was 5,000 people, it really set the stage for what I’ve been doing recently so it’s really exciting.”
Gigi has had some firm ties with the land down under, visiting for Melbourne Cup 2014, gracing the cover of Vogue Australia June 2015, fronting home-grown swimwear brand Seafolly, and, of course, her on-again off-again relationship with Gold Coast singer Cody Simpson.
“I’m, like, a really good Aussie,” Gigi told News.com.au. “For Cody’s birthday, Cody’s mum bought, like, 100 meat pies and I probably ate 60 of them.”
Someone jot down “meat pie” in Gigi’s rider, OK?
