A First Look at Ellen Degeneres’ Collection for Gap Kids

Ellen Degeneres wants young girls to embrace who they are… by getting their parents to shop her new children’s collection at the Gap. The comedian and TV host partnered with the retailer and her newly-launched lifestyle label ED for a boys and girls range (with, reportedly, a few options for adults) that has a bit of a feminist slant. Degeneres is looking to empower young girls and has cast the campaign with “inspiring real-life girls” who have all accomplished more than most of us had accomplished at their age and, in some cases, even now.

Included in the campaign is a girl who builds prosthetic hands, a drummer, an entrepreneur and more. Of course there is a social media aspect, which encourages kids to take selfies in pieces from the collection and caption their images with inspiring words.

The collection is set to hit Gap stores August 17. Part of the proceeds from the range will go to charity, giving you another good reason to shop. Above, check out the adorable behind-the-scenes video of the campaign shoot.
